The Supreme Court on Friday reserved its order on Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe against ex- Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa into his alleged role in an illegal mining scam.

The apex court led by Chief Justice S H Kapadia reserved the order after hearing recommendation of the court-appointed Central Empowered Committee (CEC) for a CBI investigation against Yeddyurappa.

The powerful south-Indian leader on July 31 last year had resigned as the Chief Minister of Karnataka after he was indicted by the Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh Hedge in the illegal mining report.

Yeddyurappa and his family members were named by Karnataka Lokayukta N Santosh Hegde in what he called Rs 16,000 core illegal mining scam.

He also faced an arrest, but getting bail in both land cases, Yeddyurappa walked out of jail on Nov 8.
