New Delhi, Feb 13 (IBNS) The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Centre for a status report about the action taken against present National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) chief K G Balakrishnan, who is the former Chief Justice of India (CJI), in the disproportionate assets case against him and a plea for his removal.
The court has asked the government to reply by Mar 12.
The court wanted to know what the government did on the case and its intentions.
The court was hearing a petition filed by NGO Common Cause against the former CJI against whom corruption charges as a judge were slapped.
