New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the Calcutta high court interim order restraining admissions under the 27 per cent Other Backward Classes quota in post-graduate courses, including in IIMs and IITs.

The apex court said admissions in post-graduate courses in Central educational institutions will be provisional and will be subject to the outcome of the final order in the matter, pending before it.
The apex court stayed all proceedings relating to OBC quota that are pending in the High Courts of Delhi, Calcutta and Bombay.
The court issued notices to those petitioners opposing the implementation of government memorandum in different high
courts on the Centre's petition seeking transfer of those matters to the apex court.
