Security has been tightened at Kamakhya temple in Assam after Intelligence Bureau (IB) input and alert on probable attack by jihadis on temples across the country.
"We have taken the IB input and alert very seriously and tightened the security," Assam Inspector General of Police (IGP) L R Bisnoi said.
"A temporary police outpost has been set up at Kamakhya temple and additional forces have already been deployed," the police official said.
Following the Hyderabad twin blasts last month, the IB alerted that jihadis are planning attacks on temples, including Kamakhya, across the country.
Mewanwhile, the Assam Police said anti-talk faction group of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) and Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) have planned to trigger an explosion in Guwahati.
"Based on intelligence report, we have information on the outfits´ plan," a top police official said.
