Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi on Saturday apologized for hitting a fan at the Karachi airport.
The former skipper said that he lost temper when he saw his daughter, who came to welcome him, getting almost trampled by his fans.
"I know what I did was wrong. I should have controlled myself. But I couldn´t take it when my daughter was pushed to the ground," Afridi told Dawn News.
"When my daughter who was waiting for me near my car got pushed by fans trying to get near me I lost my temper," he said.
The incident took place on Friday when Afridi returned to Pakistan from Bangladesh after winning the Asia Cup by defeating Bangladesh in the final match.
He was reportedly surrounded by a huge number of autograph seekers at the airport.
Afridi allegedly hit a person on his face when he asked for an autograph.
