Shoe hurled at Team Anna; one arrested

Haridwar, Jan 21 (IBNS) A person hurled a shoe at Team Anna while they were addressing a rally at Uttarakhand's Haridwar on Saturday.

Key Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal was addressing the gathering when the shoe was thrown at him. But it missed him and social activist Kiran Bedi who was sharing the dais with him.

Te Uttarakhand police has already arrested the attacker.

Earlier the same day, there were anti-Team Anna protests in Haridwar.

Team Anna started their election campaign from Haridwar on Saturday.

They stated that they will not target any specific political party during their campaign in the poll-bound states.

Kejriwal said at a press conference that they would campaign on crucial issues like land acquisition, corruption and Lokpal while campaigning in the states.

The anti-corruption group also released a four-page campaign pamphlet titled ´Your Vote can Change the History of India - Betrayal by Central Government on the Country´.

The team will start their campaign from Uttarakhand and will move through the politically charged Utttar Pradesh in February.

Assembly elections are scheduled to take place in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur and Punjab.
