Shuttlesworth's widow falls at panel discussion

The wife of the Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth is recovering after falling as she left the stage at a panel discussion honoring her husband at the Birmingham Museum of Art.

Bishop Calvin Woods told a concerned audience gathered Sunday at the 16th Street Baptist Church for a memorial service that Sephira Shuttlesworth "made an awkward step."

Woods says the extent of her injuries was unknown. She received medical attention at the museum was later taken to St. Vincent Hospital.

Shuttlesworth died Oct. 5 and his funeral is Monday.
