SIMI activist sent to 10-day police remand

Bhopal: A local court here on Saturday sent a SIMI activist, arrested in connection with Jaipur and Ahmedabad serial blasts cases, to 10-day police remand.

First class judicial magistrate R P Sonkar has sent the accused to police remand for further probe in blast cases.

Mohammad Ali was arrested from Jabalpur on Friday. However, the newly set-up Anti-Terrorist Squad of Madhya Pradesh police showed that he was arrested from Misrod near here early on Saturday morning and then he was produced before Sonkar's court here.

The IG for the Bhopal range, Shailendra Shrivastava, said at a press conference that Ali, a resident of Jabalpur, was living in Narsinghpur and police was told by an informer that he was coming to Bhopal.
