Beijing: Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna, who is on a three-day visit to China, said on Wednesday that the border issue is a complex issue that requires perseverance for a solution mutually acceptable to both New Delhi and Beijing.

To a poser on whether there was any discussion on the Arunachal issue, Krishna said: " "Well, you know the mechanism has been put in place with the best of intentions and the whole idea, the whole purpose is to come to some amicable agreement on the border issue. And when we have entrusted the work to the two Special Representatives, I think we should depend upon their wisdom to pursue this."

Krishna further expressed confidence that the Special Representatives (Shiv Shankar Menon from India and Dai Bingguo from china) are capable enough to deal efficiently on this complicated border issue.

"Well, you are aware that the border issue is being tackled by the two Special Representatives. When there is a mechanism, which is already in place, put in motion, which is functioning, I think there is no point in me and the Foreign Minister (of China) discussing. So, I think we better leave it to those, who are mandated to come to some agreement on the border issue," said Krishna.

"And border issues are always a very complex set of issues, it needs lot of patience, it needs lots of perseverance and I am sure that the Special Representatives are both capable of doing that," he added.
