Aligarh, July 6 (IANS) Six medical students of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)have been placed under suspension for alleged misconduct, a university official said Saturday.

Mohd. Faizan Rasool, Mohd. Azimuddin Malik, Mohd. Saifullah Khan, Anant Kumar Sharma, Chandra Bhan Singh and Sonu Agrawal, all MBBS students, committed prima facie acts of gross misconduct and indiscipline July 4, university Proctor Dr. Jamshed Siddiqui said, seeking a reply from them within 15 days.

University officials, who refused to give more details about the alleged misconduct, said the students had been asked to vacate their hostel rooms and told to stay away from the campus.

Siddiqui asked the suspended students to reply within 15 days from the date of the office memo, failing which it would be presumed that they had nothing to say in their defence and an ex-parte action will follow against them.
