Sohrabuddin case: BJP leader booked

Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has named senior Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Gulabchand Kataria in the supplementary chargesheet chargesheet filed in connection to Sohrabuddin fake encounter case, reports said on Tuesday.

The CBI has booked Kataria and three others for murder charges.

The agency has charged Andhra Pradesh Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) N Balasubramanyam, Director of R K Marble Vimal Patni and Andhra Pradesh police officer G Srinivasa Rao.

A Mumbai court Tuesday issued summons to Kataria and others to appear before it. They might appear before it on June 4.

Sohrabuddin Sheikh and his wife Kausar Bi were killed in an alleged staged encounter near Ahmedabad in November 2005. Tulsiram Prajapati, an eyewitness in the 'murder', was also killed in an alleged fake police encounter in 2006 end.
