Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Oct 22 (IBNS): Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi on Monday kick-started the party's election campaign in poll-bound Himachal Pradesh by addressing a rally in Mandi town.
She attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government and said it has not worked for the development of Himachal Pradesh.
"The state government has done noting for the development of the state," Gandhi said while addressing the rally here.
"The BJP made big promises in the state and came to power but what have they done for the people?" Gandhi said.
Speaking on the issue of corruption, she said: "The BJP has been constantly raising the allegation of corruption against the Congress. Corruption is like a cancer in society and it was the Congress that brought RTI (Right To Information) to fight it."
She said the BJP should first ´introspect´ before making allegations against others.
Gandhi said the BJP ´is against the Congress´ and not against corruption.
The Himalayan state will elect new assembly on Nov 4.
Counting of votes will be held on Dec 20.
