New Delhi: The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has advised entertainment channel Sony TV to refrain from telecasting the Jan 11 episode of its "Crime Patrol-Dastak" featuring the Delhi bus gangrape and brutalization.

The channel had widely beamed its promos of the episode on Delhi gangrape and the entire incident would have been reconstructed in the episode.

The Ministry has issued an advisory for Sony as well as other channels on telecast of the incident with dramatization owing to the sensitivity of the incident.

The in-camera trial of the Delhi gang rape and murder case has begun and five of the six accused were brought to the Saket court on Thursday to face the judiciary.

The case is expected to be transferred to a fast-track court soon which was inaugurated recently.

One of the six accused is an underage boy and hence he would be tried by a juvenile board.

On Monday, the court had ordered an in-camera trial and restrained media from publishing the proceedings.

The gangrape and brutalization of a paramedical student on Dec 16 night on a moving bus by six men has shocked the nation and triggered a wave of protests.

The girl died in a Singapore hospital after 13 days of fight to survive. The male companion of the girl during the night of the crime later narrated the unspeakable torture on the girl on the bus by six men who also used an iron rod to brutalize her.
