Pretoria, April 26 (IANS) South African sports minister Fikile Mbalula will meet Cricket South Africa (CSA) bosses in Johannesburg to discuss the corruption scandal that has hit the sports body.

Ministry spokesman Paena Galane said Mbalula will be meeting CSA chief executive Jacques Faul and acting president Willie Basson.

"The minister had hoped to meet with CSA last week, but there were some disturbances. He will meet with them tomorrow and we are expecting everyone (on the CSA board) to be there," Galane was quoted as saying by SAPA.

CSA had met April 9 deadline to respond to a ministerial inquiry into its finances, led by retired judge Chris Nicholson.

Mbalula is also expected to decide whether CSA had taken appropriate action in response to the Nicholson report.

A senior counsel has been appointed to chair the disciplinary inquiry of suspended CSA chief executive Gerald Majola. Majola was suspended in March after a lengthy bonus saga involving 40 CSA employees.

Bonuses amounting to Rands 4.7 million were paid after the CSA hosted the 2009 Indian Premier League (IPL). But the payments were not cleared by the board or the CSA remuneration committee.
