The engineer evacuated from a South Pole research station and her doctor will speak about her experience and medical condition.

Renee-Nicole Douceur, who traveled to Johns Hopkins Hospital this week for treatment of an apparent stroke, and her physician Dr. Paul Nyquist are expected to speak at a news conference Friday morning.

The 58-year-old engineer from Seabrook, N.H., was evacuated two months after she began experiencing vision, language and memory problems while working at the National Science Foundation's South Pole research station. Doctors believe she had a stroke, though she's expected to recover almost completely with proper treatment.
