New Delhi: Former Prime Minister IK Gujral will be given a state funeral here on Saturday.
The funeral will take place near Smriti Sthal in the capital at 3pm.
It has been decided that all government offices in Delhi will close at 1:30pm to enable the people to attend the funeral ceremony.
On Friday, the Union government declared seven days of state mourning across the country as a mark of respect to the late leader.
The state mourning will be observed from Nov 30 to Dec 6, both days inclusive.
During this period, the national flag will be flown at half mast throughout India where it is regularly flown and there will be no official entertainment.
India's 12th Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral, whose policy of pacifism with neighbours continues to influence the Asian giant's foreign policy architecture, passed away after a multi-organ failure at Medanta Medicity hospital in Gurgaon on Friday. He was 93.
Gujral, who was admitted to the hospital on November 19 with a lung infection, died at around 3:30pm.
He was unwell for quite some time and was on ventilator support.
