Even as corporal punishment has been banned in schools, three 6-year-old students of a Mumbai school were allegedly chained and made to parade around the school premises for creating ruckus in class, said media reports.

The authorities of the school also reportedly made the children clean toilets.

A case under the Juvenile Justice Act has been registered by the police.

The incident has caused a huge impact on the three students of Antonio DeSilva School in Dadar. Infact, one of the three children gets horrified even by the name of school, reports said.

"He was very scared when he came home, wouldn´t tell us what happened. Finally when he told us, we approached the school authorities but when they did not reply satisfactorily, we registered a police complaint," his parents were quoted as saying by CNN-IBN channel.
The parents have reportedly alleged that the principal had backed the teacher even though the teacher had taken this step on her own. The school authorities and the teacher are expected to be quizzed by police.

Police has confirmed receiving the complaint by the parents.
