New Delhi, Feb 9 (IANS) It was a pleasant day in the national capital Saturday as the skies remained clear followed by a cool evening with the maximum temperature settling at 22.6 degrees Celsius. The Met Office forecast similar weather Sunday.
"There will be shallow fog in the morning Sunday, but the afternoon would be clear and sunny," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
The maximum and minimum temperatures Sunday will be around 23 and eight degrees Celsius, the Met Office said.
Saturday morning was nippy with the minimum temperature settling at 8.5 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season.
Humidity hovered between a high of 86 percent and a low of 44 percent.
"The heavy backlog of trains led to delays and rescheduling because of fog in Delhi and other northern regions. Seven trains were delayed and 14 were cancelled due to fog," a Northern Railway spokesperson told IANS.
The minimum temperature Friday was normal at 8.4 degrees Celsius, while the maximum settled a notch above the season's average at 21.7 degrees Celsius.
