New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed YSR Congress party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy's petition challenging his arrest in connection to a disproportionate assets case.
The court bench comprised of justices Aftab Alam and Ranjana Prakash Desai also issued notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on a separate plea by Jagan for his bail in the case.
Jagan had challenged the denial of bail to him by the Andhra Pradesh High Court earlier this year.
The CBI had arrested Jagan on May 27.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court ordered a CBI probe into Jagan's wealth on Aug 11, 2011 after Congress leader P Shankar Rao filed a written petition in Nov 2010 seeking it, terming his property as "ill-gotten".
