Tamil Nadu derailment kills 1, injures 50

Chennai: At least one passenger died and 50 others got injured as eleven coaches of a passenger train derailed in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday morning, said reports.
Reports said the Mushafarpur-Yashwantpur Express train derailed at Sitteri near Arakkonam around 6 am. However, the exact cause of the accident is yet to be known.

Rescue teams have reached the spot, which is located 100 kms from Chennai, officials said.

The injured were taken to hospitals.

Among the derailed compartments are five AC coaches and one pantry coach.

Several trains were cancelled after the accident.
