Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has announced the recruitment for Motor Vehicle Inspector posts under Tamil Nadu Transport Subordinate Service. Candidates interested to apply for the positions may submit their registrations through the official website, tnpsc.gov.in

Date of Notification: 14.02.2018

Last date for submission of online application: 13.03.2018

Last date for payment of examination fee through bank: 15.03.2018

Last date for submission of attested copies of documents along with print out of online application: 25.03.2018

Written exam date: Part I - June 10, 2018 (10 AM to 1 PM) | Part 2 - June 10, 2018 (2.30 PM to 4.30 PM)

Eligibility criteria

The minimum age limit for candidates is 21 years and there is no upper age limit for candidates belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCMs categories including Destitute Widows of all castes. The upper age limit for all other categories is 32 years.

Candidates with Diploma in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu and having work experience of not less than a year are eligible to apply.

Applicants must also have valid driving licence (for Motor Cycle, Heavy Goods Vehicles and Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicles) and experience in driving Heavy Transport Vehicles for a Period of not less than six months after obtaining the licence.

Registrations: The examination fee of Rs.150/- (Rupees One Hundred and Fifty only) is payable by online through Net banking / Credit card / Debit card or it can be paid by offline at SBI / at Indian Bank within 2 days from the date of submission of online application, by choosing the option in the online application.

The examination paper will comprise of two papers –

Paper 1: Mechanical Engineering and Automobile Engineering

Paper 2: General Studies

The exam will be held in two shifts (10.00 am to 1.00 pm and 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm). \

While the total marks for paper 1 and paper 2 is 300 marks and 200 marks, respectively, the questions in Paper 1 will be set in enlgish only and paper 2 will be set in both English and Tamil.
