Tarun Gogoi heads for hat-trick in Assam

In the state the major fight is between the the ruling Congress and the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and latest figures showed the incumbent leading on 51 seats while the BJP and AGP both led on 7 seats each.

Exit polls In Assam predicted divergent results with one survey leaning in favour of the Tarun Gogoi-led Congress government and the other predicting a hung assembly.
