Fasting Kejriwal's health deteriorates

New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal, visibly weak from hunger after his long fast, confirmed the intentions of Team Anna to start a political party of their own.

He said that the party would not specifically aim to win elections, but was rather a tool to change the system. Assuring that the members of their party would not be corrupt; Kejriwal said that donations that the party received, presumably their main source for party funds, would be posted on their website and everything would be done in a transparent manner.

Kejriwal asked the crowds for suggestions regarding the party's name, agenda and future steps. He also wanted the crowd to give him ideas on how to ensure that elected officials do not become corrupt one they come to power.

"If you think Congress can give this nation a future, then well and good. If not, then leave it and join this movement. If you think BJP, SP and all the others can't give this country a future, then leave your parties and join this patriotic movement. How will we fight elections?  Where will this money come from? We don't need money when the people are with us." he said.

"Our aim is not to grab power, but to end the Delhi-centric government and take governance to the villages and the people. Ours will not be a party, but a movement."

"There will be no party high command and the people will select the candidates. We will go among the farmers and the people and ask them about their problems. They will tell us about their problems and their solutions. We will also go among the youth and ask them about their problems and ask for solutions. Likewise, we will go around the entire country and meet people. They will form the ghoshna patra (manifesto)."

"Ours will have the structure of an andolan, and be what the people want. Our aim is not just to win the polls, it is to challenge all the political parties. All the donations we get we will put on our website and challenge the political parties to do likewise. We will likewise put our expenses on the website."

He added that they would take their agitation "inside parliament and on the streets".
