Telgi directed to make a representation to Maharashtra court

Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday directed the kingpin in the multi-crore fake stamp paper racket, Abdul Karim Telgi, to make a representation to Maharashtra court to consider his request to let him remain in Bangalore Central jail in view of his ailments.

Justice B S Patil issued the direction when the petition filed by Telgi challenging a Pune court order seeking his transfer to Yerawada jail from Bangalore to try cases filed against him by Maharashtra police came up.

The court also observed that if it was required, investigation could be carried out by Maharashtra police in Bangalore through video conferencing and disposed of the petition.
