Darbhanga, Bihar, Oct 23 (IBNS) Family of terror suspect Fasih Mohammed, accused of triggering bomb blasts in Bangalore and Delhi, said they will move the Supreme Court for his speedy trial.
"We have decided to move the Supreme Court and request for speedy trial so that Fasih can be proved innocent at the earliest," said Mohammed´s father Firoz Ahmed.
"We have full faith in the justice system and believe the Supreme Court will do justice to my son," he said.
A special cell of Delhi Police on Monday arrested from the city airport one of India´s wanted terror suspects, Fasih Mohammed, after he was reportedly deported from Saudi Arabia.
The police arrested Mohammed immediately on arrival from Saudi Arabia, reports said.
His deportation was pending for quite some time now while Saudi Arabia earlier deported Abu Jundal, the 26/11 handler, in June this year.
Union Home Secretary RK Singh called Mohammed´s arrest as an ´important development´.
"It is an important development. He was deported from Saudi Arabia. Our officers were in constant touch with Saudi Arabia officials," Singh told media.
"We have had information and evidence about him from a long time. We arrested few people in September and October and he was one of the facilitators of those people," he said.
The Bangalore Police, meanwhile, said it would seek Mohammed´s custody.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) B Dayanand told media: "In case the Delhi Police has taken Fasih into custody then we will also be seeking his custody as he is involved in the Chinnaswamy Stadium blasts."
Mohammed´s brother Sabi meanwhile claimed his brother was innocent.
"He is absolutely innocent. Our forefathers have been freedom fighters. We can never think of betraying it. There is no question of him being involved in these activities," Sabi told reporters in Delhi.
"The agencies are always welcome to investigate," Sabi said.
Bihar born Mohammed is an engineer who had joined the banned Indian Mujahideen, responsible several bomb blasts across India.
He is a suspect in the Chinnaswamy Stadium blast in Bangalore and the shooting near Jama Masjid in New Delhi two years ago.
There was an Interpol red corner notice against him.
