Peshawar (Pakistan), Dec 15 (IBNS): Pakistan's Bacha Khan International Airport came under attack on Saturday when terrorists started raining rockets and bullets from all sides in the airport premises, according to a Pakistani news agency.
Four people were reported dead and a dozen others injured. However the identity or the location of the attackers is yet to be officially confirmed.
"There was no knowing what´s going on. Security forces have sealed the airport after besieging it. All the roads leading to the airport have been blocked as well", the news channel quoted.
However, a senior Pakistani Minister, Bashir Bilour said a vehicle was on fire but denied any casualties. He also said that he is fully aware of the situation inside the airport.
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that all arrivals at the airport has been diverted and that only a commercial aircraft was present in the airport during the attack.
According to Pakistan Air Force (PAF) some unknown terrorists attacked the airport to gain control of it.
"The attackers fired rockets to make their way into the airport but the security forces kept them at bay. They could not enter the premises", PAF asserted.
