The King of Thailand, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, has condoled the loss of lives in the recent Uttarakhand flood tragedy.
In his condolence message addressed to President Pranab Mukherjee, the Thai King expressed his sincere sympathy and condolences to all those who have suffered loss and bereavement in this natural disaster.
"The Queen and I are deeply saddened by reports of devastating floods which have caused immense loss of human lives and heavy damage to infrastructure and property in the northern part of your country. We wish to extend our sincere sympathy and condolences to Your Excellency, and through you, to all those who have suffered loss and bereavement in this natural disaster," he said in his condolence message.
In Uttarakhand, fear has gripped people living in the upper reaches as the Met department has predicted more rains in the next 72 hours.
Due to bad weather, most helicopter services engaged in rescue operations in the flood-ravaged state have been affected.
At least 20 people were killed yesterday as the IAF Mi-17 crashed north of Gaurikund while returning from a rescue mission from Guptkashi and Kedarnath. (ANI)
