Panaji, Oct 18 (IBNS) Thick fog shrouded Goa on Tuesday morning, which the meteorological observatory says is due to the moisture availability in the lower atmosphere.

Thick blanket fog disrupted flights and train schedules for more than an hour, officials said.

A flight, approaching the runway at Dabolim airport had to take another round before landing due to poor visibility.

Even the commuters had a tough time driving to work and the reduced visibility also brought to halt the ferry service.

A ferry boat carrying more than 50 passengers from Chorao Island lost its way to its quayside at Panaji and the driver had to halt the boat mid-sea. State River Navigation Department had launched an inquiry into the incident.

The state has been witnessing thick, freezing fog in the last couple of days. The sky was cleared for a sunny afternoon thereafter.
