New Delhi: Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday had a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in an apparent move to press for early formation of a separate Telangana state.
Rao did not speak to reporters after meeting Singh, which was for the first time after the Centre initiated the process of talks with recognised political parties on the Telangana issue.
The TRS chief discussed with the Prime Minister the political developments in the state, sources said.
On January 6, he had also met Home Minister P Chidambaram on the Telangana issue and described it as "satisfactory".
Prepared to wait: TRS
The TRS chief, who is spearheading the movement for the separate state, had also described the all party meeting convened here on January 5 as "a pleasant meeting and satisfactory." The meeting, however, ended in a stalemate.
