Bangalore: A two-day dance fair "Dance Jathre" will be held here from October 4 and it will bring performing artistes of all genres - from classical to contemporary - and the public on a common platform, to create awareness about the concept of Indian dance.
The "Dance Jathre" will have lecture demonstrations, workshops, personal interactions (between the public and the artistes), screening of short films on dance legends and even dance games and dance-related competitions for children and the youth, Vyjayanthi Kashi, Director, Shambhavi School of Dance, which is organising the fair, told reporters on Monday.
The evenings will be devoted to performances by up and coming and established artistes from different parts of the country.
Kashi said the fair will have around 14 stalls which will not only display dance works and art works of the artistes but also provide all information about the well-known dance schools in India and abroad and also renowned "Dance Gurus".
"There is an opportunity for the artistes to rent out stalls which will display costumes, dance make-up-kits, instruments and will be up for sale for the interested public,” she said.
