Two killed in jumbo attack in Assam

Guwahati, May 1 (IBNS) : At least two people were killed in an attack by a jumbo in Assam on Wednesday, officials said.

According to report, a person was killed in attack by wild elephants at Charaipung forest in Dibrugarh district.

"The man was attacked by the wild elephants, who was busy in collecting fire woods in the forest," a forest official said.

The deceased person was identified as Dharmeswar Gogoi.

In a separate incident, a wild elephant killed another person identified as Mahim Nath at Bihguri area near Tezpur in Sonitpur district.
