Security forces Thursday night apprehended two Maoist cadres including a woman cadre in Assam's Lakhimpur district, police said on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Lakhimpur district police had launched a search operation in Lakhimpur and nabbed one woman Maoist cadre.
The nabbed woman cadre was identified as Gitanjali Dihingia, who hails from Dhemaji district.
During the police interrogation, Gitanjali revealed that she was fully involved with red terror drive in upper Assam area.
On the other hand, police arrested another Maoist cadre, identified as Abul Samad from Borchola area in the same district.
Maoists continues their recruitment drive in Assam and some part of Arunachal Pradesh.
A top official sources of Assam Police said that, few surrendered militants were helping Maoists set up their bases in some parts of lower Assam.
Recently security forces arrested three Maoist cadres in Guwahati.
