Police have arrested two people on Monday in connection with the two-year old battered baby Falak who is fighting a grim battle of survival at the AIIMS in New Delhi.
Earlier the police arrested "Munni" the baby's biological mother who will undergo a DNA test to ascertain whether she is the biological mother of the child, media reports say.
Munni was tracked down by the police in Rajasthan about a week ago and has been brought to Delhi on Monday, based on the statement of her employer Lakshmi, who claims that Munni left Falak with her in Sept and disappeared.
The 22-year-old woman, who claims to already have two other children, is said to have told the police that she was married to a man who forced her into prostitution and so she ran away last year.
Falak's shocking tale came to the fore after she was brought to AIIMS on Jan 18 by a 15-year-old girl in a bruised and battered condition with severe head injuries, fractures and human bite marks all over her.
