London: Two teenage muggers in the UK who robbed a boy have been caught with the help of social networking giant Facebook.

The 17-year-olds stole the 16-year-old victim's mobile phone and wallet in Bedford on December 30.

Det Con Luke Moore searched for the muggers on the social networking site Facebook.

Magistrates were told that the victim recognised one of his attackers from his school and gave police a name, the Daily Express reports.

Officers visited the addresses of the robbers who then made a full admission, the report said.

The pair were given an eight-month referral order and told to pay 180 pounds each for the loss of property and 50 pounds compensation, it added.
