British prosecutors are to announce whether criminal charges will be brought against agents in its domestic and foreign intelligence services for suspected complicity in the torture of terror suspects.
The decision on MI5 and MI6 agents is to be announced Thursday by the Crown Prosecution Service after a lengthy inquiry.
Prosecutors have been investigating allegations of ill treatment of detainees held at the U.S. prison in Guantanamo, Cuba. Some prisoners have said British agents colluded in their torture.
The Guantanamo prison remains open despite President Barack Obama's announced intention to shut it down.
