UP: Man injected with acid by police, dies

Etah: In a shocking instance of police brutality, a man who died on Friday morning has accused policemen in Etah district of UP of injecting him with acid and petrol, reportedly to extract a confession from him.

The accusations comes in after the man made this statement on camera from his hospital bed, reports said on Sunday.

Balbir, the deceased, had been detained by the police along with Bani Khan and two others in connection with a murder case last month.

Both were reportedly tortured in the police custody to extract confessions from them.

When they were shifted to jail, their health deteriorated and they had to be admitted to the Etah District Hospital. 

According to reports, Balbir's poor health condition reportedly forced the doctors to shift him first to Agra and later to the King George Medical College in Lucknow. 

Four policemen have been suspended, including a Sub-Inspector in connection with Balbir's death.However, the station officer who is named in Balbir's declaration is yet to face action.
