UPSC Geologists Examination 2012

UPSC invites applications for the post of Geologist to work in geological survey of India, ministry of mines and central ground water board, ministry of water resources in the year of 2012.

Name & no of posts

UPSC will recruit 382 candidates through geologist examination to work in geological survey of India and central ground water board.


For geological survey of India, the candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained 32 years as on 01.07.2012. For central ground water board, the candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained 35 years as on 01.07.2012. Candidates must have completed master's degree in geological science or geology or applied geology or geo exploration or mineral exploration or engineering geology or marine geology and all relevant qualification.

Selection procedure

The selection process will be based on two consecutive stages - Written examination and Personal interview

Mode of submitting application form

Candidates are required to pay Rs.200/- (Rupees two hundred only) either by deposit the cash in branches of SBI or by using credit card/debit card. All female candidates and SC/ST candidates not required to pay examination fees.
