Nevada, Mar 16 (IBNS) A US based Hindu group has expressed deep condolences for the victims of the coach accident in an Alpine tunnel near Sierre (Switzerland) on late Tuesday, in which 28 lost their lives.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) on Friday, said that he was praying to God to provide the mourning families help and consolation in dealing with this tragedy at this difficult time. Besides these families, he also expressed deep sympathies to the injured and their relatives.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged all Hindu temples and prayer-centers in Belgium, Switzerland and Netherlands to hold special prayers for the departed, injured and their families. It was a heartbreaking accident, Zed added.

According to reports, out of these 28 persons who died, 22 were children; 21 were Belgian and seven Netherlands citizens; while the injured included Dutch, Pole and German.

The coach was said to be transporting 52 persons back to Belgium after a school skiing trip in Swiss Alps, when it slammed a concrete motorway tunnel wall. Some survivors are still in hospital, including three in serious condition.
