Honorary president of YSR Congress Party Y S Vijayamma on Thursday termed her arrest as 'undemocratic', after she faced hurdles in her tour in Nalgonda district.
She questioned the government on what grounds was she prevented from meeting the public in the flood-hit areas.
"Is it wrong to interact with the public? Are we living in democratic country or not? The Chief Minister himself claims to be an integrationist, will police arrest him too if he visits Telangana?" she questioned.
Vijayamma said that none of these leaders, including UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, visited flood hit areas to see the plight of people or the farmers who lost their standing crops due to floods
"Telangana people have shown abundant love and affection towards YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as they did towards YS Rajasekhara Reddy. It was proved time and again in earlier elections too," she said.
"Rajasekhara Reddy always aspired that the state should be intact for faster development and growth. Jagan Mohan Reddy too believes that the state should be kept united for the development of all the three regions," she added.
She said that Jagan Reddy would form the government and he will be the chief minister of the state.
"He will extend all welfare schemes irrespective of the region which they belong to," she added. (ANI)
