Mumbai, June 27 (IBNS) Union Minister and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on Wednesday deposed for the second consecutive day before a two-member commission that is investigating the Adarsh Housing Society scam.
According to reports, Deshmukh told the commission that he signed the files related to the Adarsh Housing Society after the state´s Revenue department and Finance Ministry cleared them.
He reportedly said former Revenue Minister Ashok Chavan and Finance Minister Jayant Patil gave clearance to the files connected to the housing society before it came to his table for approval.
Deshmukh on Tuesday had deposed before the Adarsh panel.
Earlier on Monday, Union Power Minister and ex-Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde deposed before the panel.
Shinde reportedly told the commission that all decisions in connection to the controversial housing society was taken during the tenure of Deshmukh as the Chief Minister of the state.
Several files were in connection to the case and allotment of land for the housing society were cleared during the tenure of Shinde as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra between 2001 to 2003.
