Volvo fourth most reliable engine maker

Cars by Swedish luxury carmaker Volvo finished fourth when the British insurance agency Warranty Direct listed the most reliable engine manufacturers.

Warranty Direct has compiled a list of how often insurance companies will step in and cover the repair costs for various engine damage.

In Volvo´s case the figure is 1 in 111, which corresponds to an error rate of 0.9. Best of all manufacturers is Honda, with the rate 1 in 344.

Worst of all automakers are MG Rover, followed by Audi.



The likelihood of engine damage for Audi owners are 1 in 27, which corresponds to 3.71 percent.
