Chennai, May 28 (IBNS) Manvinder Bisla, who played a match-winning knock of 89 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders, said he wanted to play freely and enjoy his game against Chennai Super Kings in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Man of the Match Bisla, who added a valuable 136-run stand with Jacques Kallis (69), said he was nervous after his opening partner and skipper Gautam Ghambhir (2) departed in the very first over.
The Haryana boy said it was Kallis, who helped him to calm down.
"I don´t think I have hit as well, good to play this in the finals to help win it for my team," he said.
Asked about his plan, Bisla said: "There was no plan, wanted to go out there to enjoy, after Gambhir got out, I felt a tad tensed but after getting one or two to the fence, I got the confidence. Kallis is a legend, batting along side him was a great opportunity, he asked me to keep it simple and get going."
Bisla also said that he was happy to play his part specially when he was coming in as a late replacement for dashing opener Brendan McCullum.
"I am feeling very happy, I have played my part. Brendon is a class player, his record speaks for himself. Due to Balaji´s injury, we had to leave him out, I am lucky I got a chance, Till the last ball, it did not feel like we had made it," he said.
