Put in, West Indies were in trouble as early as the second over when they lost Danza Hyatt (1) and kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were reduced to 89 for four in the 24th over.

Barring opener Lendl Simmons (67) none of the West Indies top order batsmen could adjust to the pace of the track and gifted their wickets to Indian bowlers.

Medium pacer Praveen Kumar exploited the slowness of the track to pick up three wickets for 37 runs while leg spinner Amit Mishra got two for 56.

Big-hitting all-rounder Keiron Pollar added some respectability to the innings with his 72-ball 70 hitting six fours and two sixes. He was also inolved in two crucial partnerships with wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh (39) and Andre Russell (25).
