Abu Dhabi, Nov 23 (IBNS) LP van der Westhuizen of Namibia will undergo remedial work for his arm ball (faster delivery) after undergoing a Home Board Analysis of his bowling action during the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier UAE 2013 (WT20Q) in Abu Dhabi.

Van der Westhuizen was one of three players reported for a suspected illegal bowling action under the ICC Regulations for the Review of Bowlers Reported with Suspected Illegal Bowling Actions on the first day of the WT20Q in Abu Dhabi on 15 November.

Van der Westhuizen was reported by umpires Steve Davis, Gregory Brathwaite and Derek Walker, and match referee Dev Govindjee, following his side's 32-run loss to Ireland at Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on the opening day of the tournament.

Under the Regulations, van der Westhuizen was required to submit to a Home Board Analysis, with a written report of the outcome of the analysis provided to the ICC within seven days.

The Home Board Analysis has been completed, and Cricket Namibia has identified a problem with van der Westhuizen's faster delivery. Cricket Namibia will work with van der Westhuizen to rectify the problem.

As such, van der Westhuizen is permitted to continue bowling in international cricket but is not permitted to continue to bowl the specific delivery identified.

Should he be reported again within a period of two years of the date of the first report, van der Westhuizen will be required to submit to an ICC Analysis.
