Woman shot dead by husband at Delhi metro station

New Delhi: A woman was killed and her father was critically injured when her husband allegedly opened fire at them in east Delhi's Karkardooma Metro Station on Tuesday, the police said.

The incident occurred at around 12:10 pm.

The deceased was identified as Deepti.

The accused, who was identified as Pawan Kumar, allegedly shot at Deepti and her father Bisham Das from behind when they were standing on an escalator close to the entrance of the metro station.

Pawan left his 12 bore double barrel gun and fled from the spot.

The Delhi Police said they have recovered five empty cartridges from the spot.

Earlier in the day, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader and super rich businessman Deepak Bhardwaj, who had also contested polls earlier, was shot dead inside his farmhouse in south Delhi.
