Source : SIFY
Last Updated: Thu, Mar 11, 2010 06:35 hrs

The Women’s Bill, which seeks to reserve 33 per cent of seats in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, has divided the entire political spectrum with Opposition parties like the BJP and Left parties supporting the Congress-led UPA government on it and past allies like the RJD and Samajwadi Party opposing it. Both houses of the Parliament witnessed unprecedented pandemonium which led to the suspension of seven MPs from the Rajya Sabha. The Rajya Sabha passed the bill on Tuesday. And now, it is the turn of the Lok Sabha to endorse it.
