Writer Chetan Bhagat turns 39

Writer, columnist and speaker Chetan Bhagat turned 39 years on Monday.

Bhagat is the author of bestselling novels-´Five Point Someone´ (2004), ´One Night @ the Call Center´ (2005), ´The 3 Mistakes of My Life´ (2008), ´2 States´ (2009), ´Revolution 2020´ (2011), and ´What Young India Wants´ (2012).

Being an investment banker, he left the job to pursue his dream of becoming a writer and incidentally all of his books are bestsellers.



Three of his books have inspired Bollywood films including the superhit film ´3 Idiots´.

He is one of the writers who have inspired the young Indians to read novels and remains to be a popular writer among the youth.

He is undoubtedly termed ´The Youth Icon´ with his wide range of influence among the young generations, not only through his novels but by his columns and inspiring speeches.

Bhagat writes op-ed columns for popular English and Hindi newspapers, including the The Times of India and Dainik Bhaskar, focusing on youth, career and issues based on national development. Bhagat voices his opinion frequently at leading events in India.

Thanking all his fans for the birthday wishes on social networking site Twitter, Bhagat tweeted:"Thank you for the Birthday wishes and love. Say a little prayer for the little girl (five-year-old rape victim). That´ll be the best gift you can give me today."
