Young blood will bring UPA Govt. back to power again in 2014: Chiranjeevi

Actor-politician Chiranjeevi turns 57

New Delhi: Telugu actor-turned politician K Chiranjeevi on Sunday expressed happiness over being inducted into the Union Cabinet, saying that he was confident that this latest reshuffle by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, would help the UPA to win the 2014 general elections hands down.

"I am very happy and will try to give my best," Chiranjeevi said shortly after his induction during a formal ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan

Expressing full faith in the Manmohan Singh-led government, the actor said that the inclusion and promotion of young leaders like Manish Tiwari, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sachin Pilot in the Cabinet, would definitely help the government win again in 2014.

Chiranjeevi's comments came shortly after President Pranab Mukherjee administered the oath of office to 22 ministers on the advice of the prime minister.

Mukherjee appointed and administered the Oaths of Office and Secrecy to the following members of the Union Council of Ministers as advised by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.

However, IAC activist-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal termed the cabinet reshuffle an exercise in futility, comparing it to a game of "musical chairs". (ANI)
