Ailing Pakistan President Asif Ali Zradari would not return to Islamabad by December 19, when the first hearing of the memo case is scheduled in the Supreme Court, but will reportedly submit his reply over the issue.
"The president will submit his reply before the court even if he does not return from Dubai," The Dawn quoted spokesman Farhatullah Babar, as saying.
However, he added, a "final decision" regarding Zardari's return would be taken in accordance with the doctors' advice.
He was earlier hospitalized in Dubai for cardiac treatment.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said Zardari would need two weeks' rest before returning home. (ANI)
