The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has invited applications from Graduates between 20 to 28 years (General candidates) for the post of Clerks. IBPS plans to hold the exams tentatively in November/December 2013.
19 banks - Allahabad Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, Andhra Bank, Central Bank of India, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Union Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Corporation Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India, Bank of India, Dena Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Vijaya Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Indian Bank, Syndicate Bank - have already announced their participation in the selection process with more expected to follow.
The online registration for the posts will be open from August 19, 2013 to September 7, 2013.
The written exam will involve tests in five subjects and be for 200 marks over two hours.
Except for the English Test, the rest will be available bilingually.
Last year, 20 public-sector banks had recruited 32453 clerks through the exam.
A similar number of vacancies are expected to be filled at the very least this year too.
